We are currently looking for a Full Time Life Skills Community Services Coordinator for our extended care program in Aliquippa.

Job Summary:   This position is responsible for developing and coordinating life skills programming for the residential Long Term Adult Program

Essential Functions:

  • Organizes and implements Community Service activities for patients.
  • Documents Community Services hours performed by each patient.
  • Develops and implements a Life Skills curriculum for patients
  • Organizes and implements therapeutic recreational activities.
  • Organizes holiday activities for patients.
  • Implements evidence based practices utilized in Gateway’s continuum of services in therapeutic recreational activities.
  • Facilitates psychoeducational groups.
  • Provides coverage for the counselor technician position as needed.
  • Coordinates the purchasing and distributing of hygiene products and clothing to patients as appropriate.
  • Transports patients to off-site activities

Qualifying Education, Experience and Skill Requirements:

  • High school diploma/equivalent required.
  • Knowledge of life skills needs through life experience and/or training.
  • Understanding of 12 step recovery programs and the recovery process preferred.
  • Computer literacy preferred.
  • Excellent people skills and organizational skills.
